Terms of Service

These Terms govern your use of MedDex, an educational medical-learning service operated by MedDex EdTech Venture ("MedDex", "we", "us"). By using MedDex, creating an account, connecting an app, uploading content, or subscribing, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy.

1. Educational service; no clinical care

MedDex provides revision cards, quizzes, battles, OSCE and patient simulations, clinical audio, Baihaqi AI chat, MedDex Lens, Spatial Intelligence, AR, Clerking Copilot, Research Lab, image generation, voice features, and related educational tools. The service is not a healthcare provider, medical device, emergency service, official imaging or ECG reporting service, or source of professional advice. It must not replace qualified healthcare professionals, clinical supervision, diagnosis, treatment, triage, emergency care, or professional judgement. Never use MedDex to make or automate a real patient's care decision or to delay urgent care. Call local emergency services for emergencies.

2. AI, medical content, and research limits

AI output, transcriptions, summaries, structured clerking fields, image or audio analyses, generated questions, research summaries, citations, translations, and generated images may be incomplete, biased, stale, misinterpreted, or wrong, including confidently wrong. Research Lab results come from third-party indexes and sources and may omit articles, contain access or licensing limits, or misstate evidence. Verify every material claim against the original source, current guidelines, lecturers, and qualified clinical supervisors. You are responsible for how you use output and for reviewing it before sharing or acting on it.

Some AI runs in the browser or on the device using bundled or downloaded models; other requests are sent to cloud providers. The route, model, limits, and availability may change. MedDex does not promise that any feature is local, private, uninterrupted, accurate, or suitable for a particular purpose.

3. Sensitive content, patient information, and permissions

Do not submit patient-identifying information, protected health information, confidential records, or another person's image, voice, document, or data unless you have lawful authority, all required notices and consents, and a legitimate educational purpose. De-identification is your responsibility. Do not upload emergency studies, use Lens as an official report, record someone without the required consent, or expose confidential information through chat, Research Lab, connected apps, exports, or sharing.

Camera, microphone, file, motion-sensor, notification, and photo-library access is optional and controlled by your device or browser. Camera and microphone may remain active only while the relevant feature is running, but you must check the device indicator and stop the feature when finished. Spatial’s live object/hand perception is intended to run on-device; selected crops or voice commands can be sent when you ask for cloud reasoning. Lens, chat attachments, image editing, Clerking transcription, voice calls, and other selected features transmit the relevant input to MedDex and/or the provider identified in the Privacy Policy.

4. Your content

You retain rights you have in prompts, notes, uploads, recordings, transcripts, reports, generated material, and other content you submit or create, subject to third-party rights and provider terms. You grant MedDex the limited licence needed to host, process, transmit, display, secure, back up, analyse for service operation, meter usage, and return that content to you. You represent that you have the rights and permissions needed for this use. Do not upload malware, unlawful material, or content that infringes privacy, confidentiality, copyright, or other rights.

5. Acceptable use

You must not misuse the service, bypass authentication, quotas, credits, rate limits, model or safety controls, scrape or commercially extract the service, reverse engineer or extract model weights, impersonate another person, share paid access improperly, interfere with infrastructure, send unlawful or harmful content, or use MedDex for diagnosis, treatment, triage, regulated decision-making, or unlicensed practice.

6. Accounts, integrations, and security

Give accurate account information and protect your credentials. You are responsible for activity under your account. Google/Google Workspace and Canva connections are optional. If connected, MedDex may create or access only the resources and scopes you authorise, such as Docs, Slides, Drive files, Gmail drafts, Calendar events, or Canva designs. Their own terms, permissions, availability, and privacy policies also apply. Disconnect access through MedDex or the provider where available.

7. Plans, quotas, credits, and payments

Free and paid access may have different limits for AI turns, image analysis, image generation, OSCE, quizzes, voice, and other features. Limits, credits, eligible models, and fair-use protections may change. MedDex Pro is a recurring subscription at the price and currency shown at checkout, processed by Stripe, and renews until cancelled. Android purchases may be processed and verified through Google Play. Cancellation stops future renewal; access normally continues through the paid period. Refunds are governed by our Refund Policy and applicable law. Physical MedDex Decks are separate products and redemption codes are non-transferable unless stated otherwise.

8. Intellectual property

MedDex software, branding, interfaces, curriculum, databases, question banks, model configurations, and original content belong to MedDex or its licensors. We grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use them for lawful learning. Third-party models, datasets, publications, audio, libraries, and integrations remain subject to their licences and terms. Do not remove notices or redistribute protected content.

9. Availability, changes, and termination

Features may be changed, suspended, or discontinued for maintenance, safety, provider changes, legal requirements, or business reasons. We may suspend or terminate access for breach, fraud, abuse, non-payment, or security risk. You may stop using MedDex and request account deletion through Delete Account. Some records may remain where required for legal, security, billing, fraud-prevention, dispute, or audit purposes.

10. Disclaimers, liability, and indemnity

To the fullest extent permitted by Malaysian law, MedDex is provided "as is" and without warranties that content or output is accurate, complete, current, secure, available, or fit for a purpose. Nothing excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded. To the extent permitted by law, MedDex and its founders, staff, contractors, and suppliers are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or loss-of-data losses, or for reliance on educational, AI, research, clinical, audio, image, transcription, or generated content. You agree to indemnify them against third-party claims arising from your unlawful use, uploaded content, breach of these Terms, or failure to obtain required consent, except to the extent caused by MedDex’s own unlawful conduct.

11. Governing law and contact

These Terms are governed by the laws of Malaysia. Subject to any mandatory consumer rights, the courts of Malaysia have jurisdiction. Questions, notices, privacy requests, and complaints may be sent to meddexedtech@gmail.com.

12. Updates

We may update these Terms by posting a new version and changing the date above. For material changes, we will provide reasonable notice through the service or by email where appropriate. Continued use after the effective date means you accept the updated Terms.
